Position Information:
WakeMed Physician Practices located in Raleigh, NC is seeking a BC/BE Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team in providing exceptional mental health care for our community with multiple areas of focus available. WakeMed serves a diverse patient population and embraces a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed approach to care. You will join us during an exciting time of growth as we expand our services to include inpatient bed capacity and collaborative care. This strategic hiring initiative aims to enhance the Mental Health & Wellbeing department's expertise and clinical services, furthering its commitment to providing exceptional psychiatric care within our community and advancing medical knowledge far beyond. Joining this team offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a 150-bed inpatient psychiatric facility, which will be situated within an innovative whole health campus. There will be opportunities for professional growth and leadership development, teaching, and close collaboration across disciplines and specialties.
Opportunities to deliver comprehensive psychiatric care to patients in the following collaborative environments:
*Emergency Psychiatry - WakeMed Raleigh Campus ranked 8th in the nation for total emergency department visits in 2022. Work within a multidisciplinary team of psychiatric providers, therapists, and nurses to complete crisis evaluations in this fast-paced environment.
*Consultation Liaison Psychiatry- collaborate with medical teams to support care of persons with comorbid psychiatric and general medical conditions
*Child & Adolescent Psychiatry- join two other fellowship trained Psychiatrists on a consultation-liaison based service providing care to children throughout the system
*Inpatient Psychiatry - lead a multidisciplinary team and guide treatment planning for persons receiving treatment at WakeBrook, a 28-bed inpatient psychiatric facility. Additional future opportunities for growth as we open our 150-bed psychiatric hospital which will be located in Garner, NC and situated within a whole health campus, anticipated to open in 2027.
*Outpatient Psychiatry - provide collaborative care at WakeMed's Primary Care Clinic as well as our Center for Community Health, an innovative program designed to provide wraparound services to help stabilize our most vulnerable residents
