In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. MSK Rehabilitation Therapy is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Rehabilitation Manager (Inpatient Occupational Therapy) to provide leadership to the Occupational Therapy (OT) team. In this forward-facing role, you will partner with the Director of Rehabilitation and collaborate with Supervisors and other Rehabilitation Managers and Administration to achieve high-level initiatives and ensure compliance, regulatory, educational endeavors, and policies & procedures. This role is on-site based in Manhattan at Memorial Hospital.
As a leader in oncology rehabilitation, we offer inpatient and outpatient rehab services to patients being treated at MSK. Our outstanding Rehab team includes Physiatrists, OT, PT, PTA, Rehabilitation Assistants, and support team members who collaborate to improve our patient's well-being. Our line of clinical care includes specialty areas in pediatrics and lymphedema.
Assist the Director of Rehabilitation to promote the vision and initiatives of the Rehabilitation Service
Provide clinical oversight and direction of occupational therapy services in an acute care hospital and outpatient pediatric setting
Build and lead an effective OT clinical team to drive excellence in skilled therapy services and deliver innovative, quality care
Establish, maintain, and update clinical workflows, standard operating procedures to ensure patient access and smooth delivery of services
Provide leadership and management of staff orientation, training, and mentorship, academic education affiliations, and quality improvement initiatives
Uphold compliance-related institutional policies, federal, and state regulations
A flexible, adaptable, and collaborative leader invested in cultivating diverse talent
An effective communicator, capable of generating engagement and understanding among different audiences
Adept at prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with Rehab Service, departmental, and organizational goals
A strong decision-maker; able to make timely decisions and work effectively in a complex, ambiguous environment
Skilled in finding resolutions, committed to forward-thinking learning, and resilient in the current state of our healthcare environment
Eager to accept challenges as opportunities bringing positivity, passion, and a team approach
A NYS Occupational Therapist license (by date of hire)
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required (Master's degree or higher preferred)
5+ years' occupational therapy experience in a hospital-based acute care setting required
2+ years' supervisory experience preferred
Outpatient, oncology, lymphedema clinical work experience preferred
Monday-Friday, day shift, within hours of 7:15am to 6p (subject to change); Holidays and weekends as needed
