Chief Radiation Therapist to help lead the Radiation Therapist team to continued success. Responsible for but the clinical and administrative side of the department, the
Chief Radiation Therapist will be the main resource for all clinical SOPs as well as manage staffing, resource for insurance coding and billing around radiation therapy, creation/management of policies, as well as managing the accreditation process. An individual with a proven track record of leadership skills and experience in radiation therapy will find the most success in this role.

Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates keen interpersonal skills in order to effectively interact with patients, their families, physicians and staff
- Demonstrates a high level of knowledge of all integral components of oncology services provided
- Directly supervises employees in the radiation oncology program which may include CT technologists, simulation therapists, and radiation therapists
- Coordinates all technical staff to enhance high quality radiation therapy
- Oversees the work of Radiation Therapy personnel by training, mentoring, allocating, and monitoring their work in accordance with USON policies and procedures
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training radiation therapists, simulation therapists, technicians.
- Develops performance expectations and departmental objectives for radiation therapists, simulation therapists, and technicians, to ensure quality, efficiency and productivity
- Ensures all radiation therapists and imaging personnel maintain state licensure and are adequately trained to perform duties
- Ensures the provision of quality radiation and imaging care, inclusive of radiation treatment delivery, dosimetry, brachytherapy, and diagnostic imaging
- Assists in the development and implementation of plans and budgets based on related organizational goals and objectives
- Participates in the radiation QA program to assure accuracy of treatment plan delivery and CT simulation
- Ensures effective coverage of related clinical staff for the Practice, within budgetary guidelines.
- Performs tasks assigned to radiation and imaging staff, as necessary, and appropriate to area of education and expertise
- Participates in the creation, implementation and maintenance of standard radiation oncology and diagnostic policies and procedures throughout the practice
- Works with managers and members of other departments to ensure teamwork and cooperation between radiation staff and other practice personnel
- Ensures the correct use of charge codes, reviews and amends billing for accuracy
- Educates all radiation and imaging staff in correct documentation per US Oncology reimbursement guidelines
- Ensures the timely and cost-effective ordering of radiation and imaging supplies
- Contributes to a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers by correcting existing hazards, informing department manager of discovered hazards, and preventing hazards by following established procedures.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program, Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum five years actively practicing as an RTT to include Brachytherapy, SRS, SBRT, HDR.
- Minimum three years prior supervisory experience required.
- ARRT certification required.
- Valid state license for radiation therapy.
- Solid understanding of CPT & ICD-10 codes pertaining to Radiation; CPC preferred or willingness to become certified within a specified period.
