The Behavioral Health Care Line (BHCL) is looking for a Senior Social Worker to join their Mental Health Intensive Case Management (MHICM) Program. The MHICM Program is a comprehensive intensive case management program for Veterans with a diagnosis of serious mental illness such as Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder with Psychosis or Major Depressive Disorder with Psychosis. he major duties include, but are not limited to: Exercises independent judgment and functions autonomously in providing individually tailored services to meet the needs of the veterans on a one-on-one basis or in a group setting. Conducts ongoing assessment of the Veteran's progress and treatment, as well as development of discharge plans. Provides proactive and assertive outreach services to clients and initiates community networking which may include coordination with lawyers, board and care home operators, physicians, clergy, and representatives of other disciplines who are concerned with the same clients or group of clients. Performs significant administrative functions such as serving as primary focal point in clinic meetings. Takes the initiative to conduct research and pilot studies in order to utilize outcome evaluations to improvement treatment services. Provides expert subject matter consultation to colleagues and students on the psychosocial treatment of clients treated in specialty areas, rendering professional opinions based on experience and expertise and role modeling effective social work practice skills.
