This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. The Hot Springs Mental Health Nurse is a Registered Nurse who demonstrates professionalism, experience and creative approaches to the management of Mental Health Veterans in the Domiciliary at the Hot Springs campus of the VA Black Hills Health Care System (VA BHHCS). Duties include but are not limited to: Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. Serves as an organizational steward for VA Black Hills Health Care System, and implements the "Mission, Vision and Values" statements of the organization. Promotion of interdisciplinary, evidence-based practice, customer service and satisfaction; and quality of care for those served. Responsible for the delivery of mental health nursing services. Safely administers medications, including scanning medications when retrieved from the Omnicell. Demonstrates skill/knowledge and ability to perform treatments, procedures and utilize equipment appropriately. Provides care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner, respecting the values and beliefs of members of all cultures. Demonstrates understanding of Veteran rights. Understands and communicates facility performance measures and links individual staff performance to measures. Work Schedule: Full time Days and/or Nights (6 twelve hour shifts and 1 eight hour shift every 2 weeks) with every other three day weekend.
