This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Accountable for ensuring that high quality nursing care is delivered in an efficient and effective manner. Responsible for the adherence to established nursing standards, hospital policies and procedures. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting priorities and preparing schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and the requirements of the assignments, and the capabilities of the subordinates. Evaluates performance, makes recommendations for appointments, advancements or reassignments of subordinates. Responsible for decision-making both clinical and administrative. Monitors and assures quality care. Recruits and retains assigned staff. Implements specific programmatic functions; dependent upon clinical area. Communicates and collaborates interdepartmentally and within the Service. Preferred Experience: Master's Degree, previous Supervisory experience is highly recommended and approximately 2-3 years of current Registered Nurse experience in an Inpatient Mental Health setting.
