This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more The Supervisory Social Worker is assigned to the Residential Care Section of the Behavioral Health Care Line, and is based at the Albuquerque, New Mexico, VA Health Care System campus. The incumbent will provide administrative and clinical oversight of social workers and other staff assigned to the Residential Care Section and supervision of social workers assigned to the inpatient psychiatric units located on the Albuquerque, New Mexico VA campus. Additionally, the incumbent will provide administrative supervision of support staff as directed by the Chief, Residential Care Section. Duties include, but are not limited to: Observes workers' performance and tracks productivity; demonstrates and conducts work performance critiques. Provides informal feedback and periodically evaluates employee performance. Provides advice and counsel to workers related to work and administrative matters. Enforces disciplinary measures as appropriate to their authority delegated in this area. Exercises supervisor authorities and responsibilities involving work assignment and review, as well as the administrative and personnel management functions relative to the staff supervised. Conducts work activity independently using his/her educational training, clinical experience, VA policies, as well as TJC and CARF standards in administering direct services. Conducts training for staff, students and community providers regarding Residential Care Section issues, will provide education, information and liaison with resources for Veterans in the community, and will provide technical assistance and educational sessions to community organizations as needed. Coordinates interdisciplinary staffing and work assignments for social workers and other assigned staff within Residential Care Section, as well as the acute inpatient psychiatry units. Conducts psychosocial assessments to determine needs of Veterans and family members. Work Schedule: Monday- Friday; 08:00 am to 04:30 pm Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
