Position Summary
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant works under the supervision of licensed Occupational Therapists. Implements direct patient care as governed by licensure in the State of Florida and adhering to the American Occupational Therapy Association and/or National Board for Certified Occupational Therapy. The delivery of patient care will be performed in the acute care and/or outpatient setting for age-specific population; adults to geriatrics. The COTA primary function is to implement patient treatment in accordance with the Plan of Care established by the Occupational Therapist(s). Certified Occupational Therapist Collaborates with the Occupational Therapist(s) regarding the Plan of Care and any changes. Certified Occupational Therapist Communicates effectively with the OT and other healthcare professionals involved in the patient's care. Performs documentation of care, charges accurately in accordance with the department/hospital policy and procedures, and regulatory
requirements. Certified Occupational Therapist Participates and projects a positive attitude with the patient experience to ensure optimal customer service. Performance measures include meeting established productivity standards. Flexibility with work schedule. May supervise students and/or volunteers.
Working Weekends, holidays and random shifts during the week. The work hours during the week is 8-4:30 or 8-5p - The weekends are more flex and 7-3p
Qualifications: Education
Required: Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant
Experience
Preferred: 1 year experience
Certifications
Required: Florida Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant by AOTA Licensure, American Heart Association BLS
Multilingual Preferred
Per Diem Variable, including some weekend hours
