This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Learn more The VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) seeks a board-certified sleep specialist for a large Sleep Medicine practice. Join a staff of three physician sleep specialists providing care for a diverse veteran population at three Boston area locations. Program includes a 4-bed Sleep Laboratory, active Home Sleep Testing Program, busy outpatient clinics and DME services provided by a talented staff of RPSGTs. Practice exclusively Sleep Medicine or a combination of Sleep and Pulmonary Medicine. Affiliation with Harvard Medical School (HMS) and Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM). Academic research or educational interests welcomed. Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Pulmonary Disease or Neurology, AND Board Certification in Sleep Medicine. A full and unrestricted license in any state, and U.S. Citizenship is required. VABHS, a major tertiary referral center for Veterans from throughout New England, provides a full spectrum of inpatient, residential and outpatient medical-surgical and mental health services across three major campuses (Brockton, West Roxbury, & Jamaica Plain), five community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs), and several residential rehabilitation facilities. V ABHS is the largest recipient of VA research funds in the nation and ranks among the top VA facilities in total research funding. V ABHS has the largest number of trainees of all VA facilities. Compensation will be competitive with major academic medical centers in the region. This position is full-time at 40 hours per week. Applicants must submit a CV/Resume for this position. NOTIFICATIONS:- - This position is a non-Bargaining Unit position. - The incumbent may be required to travel to other VA campuses and CBOC's. - Candidates who meet the qualification requirements within 15 calendar days following the closing date of the announcement will be considered. - This position is in the Excepted Service. - Drug Testing Position: Applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants will not be appointed to the position if a verified positive drug test result is received. - Selectee will be required to complete the credentialing process. - Applicant's education, length of practice, will be considered by a Market Pay Review process in determining the salary of the applicant selected. - Permanent appointment in this position is subject to review by the Professional Standards Board (a peer-review group) that will review the selected candidate's education and experience. - Current and former Federal employees must submit copies of their most recent SF-50, (Notice of Personnel Action). The SF-50 must identify the position title, series, grade, step, tenure and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).
