Incumbent serves as a leadership role with the coordination of the clinical assignments and activities of occupational therapist, physical therapist, vendors, and contract staff who deliver this specialty service at each of het 3 divisions of the Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care system. Duties of this position are, but not limited to: Coordinates closely with Prosthetics, OT, PT, Medical Providers, Contractors, and Vendors at all divisions of NWIHCS on all aspects of Custom Mobility/Specialty Seating and Prosthetics programs. Serves a leadership role with coordination of clinical assignments of OTs, PTs, Vendors, and Contract staff at each division of NWIHCS Routinely participates with W/C and Seating Clinics at the Omaha Division. Participates with training of PT staff, OT staff, CBOC staff, Prosthetics staff, Providers, and students on a routine basis Provides training to NWIHCS Rehab staff on HISA evaluations, Stair Glide evaluations, Electric Mobility, and other specialty Evaluations as needs are identified. Serves as the liaison to NWI Prosthetics and as the key Rehab Point of Contact for complex adaptive equipment or custom devices within NWIHCS, including all CBOC locations and external customers (i.e. Community Hospitals, State Veteran Homes, Community Nursing Homes, etc.) Participates in monthly Prosthetics meetings as the primary Rehab Point of Contact Recommends adjustments for prosthetics/orthotics devices or makes minor adjustment on devices or adaptive equipment to obtain maximum benefit from the device. Responsible for leading and participating with performance improvement to improve outcomes in therapy and particularly in the delivery of custom mobility/specialty seating and custom or complex prosthetic items. Quarterly travel (at least 4x per year) to each Lincoln and Grand Island facilities for site visits and review of team processes of Wheelchair and Seating clinics. Organize monthly TEAMS meetings with all 3 NWIHCS Wheelchair and Seating teams, including bi-annual face-face meetings to facilitate training, communication, and standardized practices across NWIHCS. Maintains statistics/data and provides timely reports as requested by Managers of PMRS and Chief of PMRS. Independently solves complex problems associated with patient care and routinely provides treatment, or consultation on treatment, for complex patients.
