This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Learn more The Marion, Illinois VA Medical Center is seeking three full time Psychologists to join our Behavioral Medicine Service at the following locations: Community Living Center, Marion VA Medical Center, Marion, IL Owensboro Community Outpatient Clinic, Owensboro, KY Evansville Health Care Center, Evansville, IN Our Community Living Center Psychologist position....is a member of the VA Community Living Center (CLC). The CLC is an inpatient setting that provides comprehensive, interdisciplinary short- term care and hospice services to Veterans with acute, short stay care needs or an end-of-life illness. CLC provides hospice care, rehabilitation, disease management such as IV therapy or wound care, and care coordination services. CLC targets Veterans who will benefit from interventions that improve their functional abilities. Outcomes expected of CLC programs include effective management of disease, improvement in function with return to the community setting or dignity at the end of life. The CLC team includes representatives from medicine service, nursing, pharmacy, social work, rehabilitation, dietetics and psychology. The incumbent is member of the Behavioral Medicine Service (BMS) providing the full range of psychological services to Veterans referred by the clinic staff members including clinical assessment and treatment including individual, group or family psychotherapy, crisis intervention, advocacy, and coordination of linkages to other VA or community service providers/agencies as needed by the Veteran. Our Psychologist Outpatient Mental Health (OPMH) positions at Owensboro, KY and Evansville, IN....will be assigned to the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (OPMH) within Behavioral Medicine Service. Services include clinical assessment and treatment including individual, group or family psychotherapy, crisis intervention, advocacy, and coordination of linkages to other VA or community service providers/agencies as needed by the Veteran. The incumbent assists with the Primary Care Mental Health Integration/Behavioral Health Lab; to include emergencies/walk-ins. The incumbent will provide a full range of psychological services to Veterans referred by the Primary Care clinic staff members including rapid assessment, diagnosis and (where appropriate) referral for specialized psychiatric services; brief individual, family or couples counseling, time-limited psychotherapy or psychoeducational groups and consultation for the PC team in the clinical management of their patients. Duties for all positions include but are not limited to: Completes thorough psychosocial assessments and includes pertinent information in all the required areas of functioning in order to determine appropriate diagnoses and other treatment-related conclusions. Clinical assessments are found to be appropriate to the referral question. Conclusions are found to be reasonably substantiated by interviews, observations, historical data, collateral data (i.e. from outsides sources such as other treatment providers, family members, etc.) and other data when indicated. Provides a DSM diagnosis to determine the psychosocial functioning and needs of Veterans and/or their families. Provides emergency/crisis interventions that are provided to Veterans in an effort to stabilize. Provides consultation to other treatment team and staff members regarding psychosocial needs of Veterans and/or their families and the impact of the identified psychosocial problems on the Veteran's health care planning, compliance with treatment, and discharge planning. General oversight (with supervision) and management of an APA (American Psychological Association) accredited pre-doctoral internship offering multiple internship rotations. Maintaining a comprehensive evaluation system of these trainees that is consistent with APA guidelines. Treatment is arranged in appropriate intervals of time over an appropriate span of time. Work Schedule: CLC Position: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday with possibility of on-call rotation (evening/weekend) and/or change in schedule to include evenings OPMH Positions: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Functional Statement: Psychologist (OPMH) Preferred Experience: Licensed Psychologist with at least one year post-doctoral experience.
