Crossroads Centre, Antigua is an International residential rehabilitation facility providing medically monitored and clinical supervised care for patients seeking substance addiction treatment services. Our facility is located in serene settings of Willoughby Bay St. Phillips, Antigua. It meets the highest standard of care and is CARF certified. The program provides 24-hour medical coverage, individual and group therapy, didactic health and substance abuse education, alternate therapeutic activities with a very strong focus on linking individuals to on-going treatment and continuing care services. It is rooted in the 12 step philosophy.
We are seeking to contract the services of a Consultant Physician specializing in the field of Addiction Medicine to provide support to our Medical/Clinical team. Primary functions include consultative services on patient/client care, pharmacology and policy development.
Work in tandem with the CEO, Clinical Director and Director of Admissions of Crossroads Centre Antigua to ensure/promote appropriate service provision at system level.
Develop and evaluate addiction medicine clinical performance and ensure it meets short and long-term objectives for client/patients.
Provide annual onsite medical supervision and education support to staff physicians in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Provide specialized consultative services to staff physicians
Review & utilize the electronic medical record (EMR) to document patient/client information, referrals, recommendation or other relevant information as required.
Adhere to all compliance procedures relevant to protected health information (PHI) and HIPAA regulations.
The applicant must:
Have worked at least 5 years in an Addiction treatment medical care facility
Experience in the development of policies and procedures
Familiar with holistic forms of medical care, stress management and alternative remedies
Experience and/or knowledge of Electronic Medical Recording
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Ability and willingness to work with a diverse team
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, be treatment team oriented and have demonstrated experience working with chemically dependent &/or dual diagnosis adults.
Strong leadership skills, coupled with a flexible and creative approach to work and effective problem-solving abilities are essential
Medical diploma required.
Board certification by (or eligibility for certification) by the American Society of Addiction Medicine or the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
Valid MD license required
Valid driver’s license.
Specific training and/or experience in the field of substance abuse is preferred.
Registered in Antigua/Barbuda or be able to obtain such license.
If applicant is not ABAM/ASAM/ABPN certified, at least 5 years working in the field of Addiction Medicine, with a minimum of 25% caseload of patients reflective of the field.
Other requirements include:
Possess excellent communication skills (verbally and written)
Knowledge of the disease of addiction and treatment of chemically addicted persons.
Demonstrate ability and willingness to work with a diverse team
If in recovery, minimum 5 years of abstinence required and an ongoing program of recovery and abstinence
