Garland Behavioral Hospital (GBH) is a 72 bed facility located in Garland,TX. We provide a broad range of services for Adult and Geriatric Psychiatric conditions.
Garland Behavioral Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Full time Mental Health Technician ( MHT). Under the guidance of the Chief Nursing Officer, the MHT provides routine non-acute physical care, for the patient, as well as, educational groups based on needs identified in the Master Treatment Plan.
This position is Fulltime Day shift from 6:45am- 7:15pm ( 12 hour shift days 3-4 days weekly, rotating weekends)
Provides safe environment for patient, staff, and visitors
Follows program schedule, rules, and guidelines with minimal supervision
Facilitate and lead community groups assigned
Completes patient procedures and documentation accurately and within time frame specified
Follow process for contraband procedures
Patients with special precautions are monitored according to facility policy
Non Violent physical and /verbal interventions techniques are utilized on patients exhibiting violent/ inappropriate behaviors
Patients receive assistance in achieving treatment goals and objectives
Patient behaviors are accurately assessed, reported, and documented.
Alerts supervisors to risk management and quality concerns.
Admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients are assisted ;especially completion of belongings inventory
Patients with special precautions are monitored according to facility policy.
Performs special functions as required (ex: feed and bathe geriatric patients).
Assists in assessment, planning, and implementation of the unit
