The Registered Nurse (R.N.) assess, directs, delegates, coordinates and evaluates consumer care through collaborative efforts with health team members and in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. The registered Nurse may serve as the administration's designee in supervisory capacity. Coordination of all staff assignments ensures that all consumers will receive optimal care and that the unit duties are completed. Maintains the unit safe, oversees the MHT. Responds and documents on all inquiry calls.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
Knowledge of code procedures
Knowledge of psychiatric, medical and A.N.A. standards and nursing procedures that meet standards including State Nurse Practice Act and Code of Ethics
Knowledge of computers and various software programs
Knowledge of the federal, state and local laws that pertain to enquires right to privacy and confidentiality
Knowledge of legal obligations for reporting abuse and/or neglect
Knowledge of clinical and age appropriate behaviors
Knowledge of the Mental Health Code and Privacy Act
Knowledge of crisis intervention procedures
Knowledge of trauma informed care
Skill in organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines
Skill in telephone etiquette and paging procedures
