Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
The APRN is a critical role responsible for the provision of psychiatric treatment of severely emotionally disturbed (SED) or severe disabling mental illness (SDMI) clients receiving outpatient services. The APRN functions as an active member of a team of professionals in the delivery of community based mental health treatment and rehabilitative services providing psychiatric/medical consultation for: Outpatient Therapy, Day Treatment, Community Based Rehabilitation, Case Management, Crisis House services and Family Based Therapy services. The APRN provides training for staff and consultations for families and clients as appropriate and positively represents the Mental Health Center to the medical community.
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Ability to perform assessments, diagnoses, and develop practical treatment approaches for and with consumers who are experiencing symptoms of serious emotional disturbance or severe and persistent mental illness
Ability to effectively provide leadership, training, and consultation to a diverse group of professionals
Ability to relate effectively with administration, consumers, and family members and alliances
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
APRN license for the State of Montana
Training or experience in community-based psychiatric treatment of individuals diagnosed with serious emotional disturbance or severe and persistent mental illness
Comprehensive and current knowledge of psychotropic medications
Understanding of crisis intervention and the use of hospital alternative services.
